We have plans for our new home.  What is the next step?

The next step is to meet and discuss your plans, ideas, timeframe and budget.   We can then be sure that we fully understand what you are looking for in your new home and how we can best meet those requirements.  If an initial meeting is not possible we are happy to start our discussions through email and over the phone.


We do not have plans yet.  Can Schroetlin Custom Homes help?

We can help you design a plan specifically for you based on your needs and budget.  We also have several existing plans available for you to choose from or modify.  There are also thousands of plans available online from various house plan websites.  This is usually a good place to start.  If you find a plan online that you like we can give you a rough estimate on the cost to build.


Can Schroetlin Custom Homes build on our lot?

Yes.  We take every step to maximize your views, privacy, etc.


Does Schroetlin Custom Homes have available lots?

We have access to hundreds of available lots in the area that can accommodate homes in any price range.  Whether you’re looking for a patio home lot, lakefront lot or large acreage we can help you find the perfect lot for your needs and budget.  Soil conditions, water fees, sewer fees, and permit fees can vary greatly from one area to the next.  We are happy to give you guidance in these areas.


Where does Schroetlin Custom Homes build?

We primarily build in Northern Colorado (Loveland, Fort Collins, Berthoud, Windsor, Greeley, Estes Park) but can build in all areas of Colorado.


What is your pricing structure?

There are several pricing options available.  Options range from a firm bid price to an open book, cost plus option where every financial detail is shared with the homeowner.  It is entirely up to the homeowner on how involved they want to be in the planning, construction, and finances of building their home.  Some clients like to be involved every step of the way, while some just want us to hand over the keys upon completion.  We will find the option that best fits your situation.

 

How much does it cost to build a home?

There are too many variables to state a general price per square foot.  If you call or email with a brief description of the type of home you have in mind, we are happy to give you a ballpark estimate.

How long will it take to complete construction of our new home?
The planning, design, and approval process usually takes about 2 months.  Once we break ground it takes approximately 6 months to build a new home.
